July 23, 2018 – Lake Ontario

Lights out at midnight on Saturday, July 22nd and up 4 hours later in preparation for our charter with Pappa Smurf out of Wilson, NY. (https://www.papasmurfsportfishingcharter.com). We met Captain Roger and First Mate John, at the State Park Mariner well before sunrise and were in open water at first light. The King Salmon were on as soon as our tackle got wet, starting the day with 4 in the boat before the sun was over the eastern horizon. We finished the day with a satisfying 11 for 15 and headed for shore as a storm front rolled across the lake. Really good day, great friends and excellent fishing!

What an epic fishing trip. Big rollers, big boats, big fish, and great friends. You can’t ask for much more. Definitely a trip I will always remember.
